Hotel Makaaba Eco-Boutique - Bacalar

This is a hotel go-to for Bacalar! The building is really good and the rooms are compact and unique with Balcony. A special thanks to affable staff. Offers TERRIFIC service and good food.

The hotel's location was incredible, close to the center and nature. Clean units with Balcony, the botanical coffee, as example, and the staff were incredibly nice.

Location: the hotel was really close to the laguna and good restaurants and the garden and the center of town and the lagoon. Really enjoyed the room, it was very well furnished with balcony.

thank you for a wonderful stay. there is a huge variety of outstanding food for breakfast. it has fairly friendly and extremely friendly staff and lovely views. the hotel provided a great customer service during our trip. furthermore, free wi-fi throughout the property is cool.

A good escape! Stylish rooms and a pool area surrounded by lush greenery create a zen atmosphere. Enjoyed a delicious included breakfast at the restaurant next door. Close to town for biking, dining, and exploring. Note, rooms require climbing a ladder to the lofted bed which may be challenging. A fantastic stay overall!

Staff warm and cute. The eco boat tour they arranged for us was a highlight, but the air conditioning in our room needed maintenance as it dripped water onto our belongings. A nice experience.

enjoyable central accommodations near attractions and parks

I loved how the hotel was just a few steps away from the beautiful Lake Bacalar and the local Balneario Municipal, made my weekend strolls refreshing as I explored the area. The pool was amazing with plenty of spots to unwind and relax throughout my stay.

I had a fantastic time soaking up the unique pool area's chill vibe and sampling the amazing breakfast options, especially the mix of savory and sweet dishes! I would totally return!

The pool area was fine with so many comfy lounge spots, and we had a blast on the jumping platform! Relaxing in the sun by the rooftop pool was a treat after indulging in the delicious breakfast spread.

Loved the pool and breakfast, but Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

It was just a good match for a passing visit in Bacalar with excellent value for money. Just keep your windows shut to avoid damp smells.

Couples looking for a unique getaway

The hotel is a real gem, the pool area is fine and really relaxing with enough space to lounge. The breakfast was really good, every morning trying something new and delicious made the start of the day a highlight, I mean there were beautiful plates of both sweet and savory options that I couldn't get enough of.

It wasn't exactly cheap but I'd say it was still reasonable for what you get.

Such a chill spot!

The pool and lounge areas are super nice. Breakfast was a dream, especially when I saw the chefs whipping up real Mexican dishes. Only thing is, the Wi-Fi was spotty at times. Still, can't wait to tell everyone about this place!

I loved the amazing breakfast with freshly baked croissants and organic juices 😊 The only drawback was the musty smell in the room. Still, had a comfortable stay overall!

The air conditioning leaked, causing some discomfort, and the initial check-in experience could have been more cute. With some attention to maintenance and service, this place could be excellent.
